Name: Philippine Submission Sport League

Description:
The school has deduced hand-to-hand combat in two ranges: Striking and Grappling. The concepts that remained in the striking manual of the school are primarily from Jeet Kune Do, International Kickboxing and Muay Thai. The grappling concepts are from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Wrestling. “The school’s organizers were the pioneers in bringing Brazilian (Gracie) Jiu-Jitsu here in the Philippines. They were also the founder of local submission fighting, mixed martial arts and no-holds barred competitions.” Nevertheless, being true to its philosophy, Submission Sport has shed the use of the kimono uniform in training because it unknowingly infuses motor skill errors into a fighter’s movement in competition. In its eleven years of existence and through continuous research and development of its curriculum, the school has created techniques that fill in the gaps, which the earlier said martial arts fall short in the over-all picture of self-defense.
