hey guys Im new here... I've been training for MMA about a year na.. I started with boxing then muay thai, lately grappling. Our sparring is done in full mma but only half the power baka kc magakasakitan ng husto... Anyway just want to ask how does one activate the aggressiveness during the sparring? I notice that whenever we have sparring I feel im not in full aggressiveness, in that way ako pa ang tinatamaan madalas. any comment?
i don't think "aggression" is your problem. you're probably just scared. just log in more sparring time. full contact, as much as possible.

Ay hindi naman po aggression... Parang masyado kc ako kalmado kaya madals pag tinira na ko ayun hindi maka react ng tama. Well Im NOT really scared but it seems like I panic when my opponenet throws a strike. Parang I loose my composure...So sparring lang ba talaga chief... how about mental conditioning? any tips that I can do on my own...

now i'm confused. panicking is NOT being too calm. in fact, it's the opposite of being calm. you panic and lose composure because you ARE afraid of getting hit. if you weren't, it would not bother you at all. if you were calm, you'd react the way you're supposed to react.

i'd go so far to say that sparring is the ONLY thing you can do about it. or stop fighting. you spar more, you get hit more. it is gradually embedded in you that you are going to be okay. you are not going to get hurt. you learn that it's not so bad getting hit. everyone gets hit.

but if you're looking for conditioning, i suggest you look for the conditioning section.

Maybe you're too lost in your own thoughts tapos minsan najojolt ka kapag tinamaan ka. Let loose ka lang. Tutal, nagsaspar lang naman kayo eh. Sana nakatulong 'to.

dude, i have the exact same problem. i lose composure when i start getting hit. its not that because its painful, it just because im "getting hit". not used to it. I remember getting beat up in one sparring session, i wasnt even able to land a single punch because i curled up- although i knew better.

I realized its not the moves you KNOW that come out when you fight, its the moves that youre USED TO DOING that does.

I also need some depussyfication training. daym.

Im sorry i was lost in the translation of my thougt... What I was trying to say is that Im too calm, then I start to panic when my opponent throws a move, parang hindi naka fight mode yung mind ko ,kumbaga sa au2 eh racing mode...parang ganun. Anyway thanks...I'll see in the conditioing section if there is a thing called mental fight conditioning or fighting mentality  conditioning...

1. i don't think you can be too calm (unless you're like me, who doesn't care if he takes direct hits to the face, which in turn leads to knockouts, concussions, decision losses, and a lot of blood). relax, man. it's sparring. don't be afraid to take a few hits. nothing bad is gonna happen. that's what this is all about after all.

2. how exactly do you put a car in "racing mode?"

3. i thought you meant conditioning drills. pardon me. well, as for mental conditioning, there's basically nothing you can do about it now, other than build confidence through hard sparring. because in the ring, you're either a pussy, or you're not. "competition doesn't build character, but reveals it."

Thanks for the inputs...

Anyway on your question number 2, professionaly you upgrade the engine put "fast part" if you translate that in mma that means upgrading your techniqs etc. Thats the manual route... in todays time kc may mga cars nowadays where you can just press a button then... viola, you can now race the car "amaturely".

This is what Im trying to ask you guys, parang how do I convert my mind into the game of fighting? kc sabi ng trainer ko pag nasa sparring ako hindi ko iniisip na nag s-spar nako... kumba kailangan daw muna ko magalit...

He added in this sport kailangan ko daw matutunan on how do I turn on my mind into "fighting mode" with out getting angry. napansin ko din kc yun, iba ang kilos ng utak ko pag may kaaway ko @ iba din ang andar ng utak ko pag nasa mma lang ako... Anyway thanks Ill try the one you say depussyfication.. or whatever... Thanks again!

so you're talking about the mindset... well, it took a while for me to really apply this, but i finally got it together. whenever i spar/compete, i set my mind to a professional state. i go in there and i just take care of business. it's nothing important, just something you have to do. it relieves so much pressure.
