oh, that. note that you lose muscle strength immediately after the stretch. so taking that into consideration, here are a few stretching guidelines:
> never stretch cold muscles. they don't go as far.
> always stretch after your workout.
> exhale and relax. everyone was born to be able to do full splits. the
stretch reflex tightens muscles when they go farther than your comfort zone.
> hold the stretch at its most painful for a few seconds until it does not hurt as much, inhale, and stretch further with a sigh of relief.
> always stretch after your workout.
by the way, i never stretch prior to my workouts. i use mostly joint mobility exercises and static stretching after. and i have phenomenal flexibility.
