I usually hear the name Eddie Bravo when I'm watching UFC. The inventor of the rubber guard.

everybody who starts bjj nowadays try the rubberguard. i did 2 years ago. now i'd rather learn the basics from moura, maia & saulo videos before doing stuff he got from other people(notably, schembri) & renaming them. cheers! Smiley

yes. rubber guard is the same with other guards. if you're grabbing your left ankle with your right foot on his hips, you should apply constant pressure with your right thigh or they will pass to your right rather easily. i'd rather go for the butterfly.

most winners of adcc train with the gi. maybe they're on to something. still, waiting for a 10th planet guy to win in adcc. i remember watching human weapon where the host(bravo brown belt) got tooled by a judo guy.

he's still cashing on his victory over royler. bravo's legit but it's his marketing that makes him famous. he didn't even won his bracket. leo viera made him his bitch. eddie's pretty cool imo, he even said that 99/100 royler will beat him, it just so happened that the 1% got through. or something to that effect.

i've been seeing his techniques used increasingly in the octagon. BJ Penn, and some guys from the Ultimate Fighter 8, to be specific.
